About the event

The City Council meets regularly on the first four Tuesdays of the month at 5:00 p.m., in the Council Chambers, located at 276 Fourth Avenue in Chula Vista.

City Council  may meet in the future should the psychiatric hospital go to a quasi judicial hearing.

Step 1. City staff (Caroline) will work on an evaluation, plan & informational packet for the city planning commission. City staff will either recommend the applicant (Acadia/Scripps) project or not recommend it to the city planning commission

Step 2. The city planning commission will have a meeting and decide to approve permit application or not approve permit application

 - If permit is not approved: applicant can appeal it

 - If permit is approved: the community can appeal it

 - If no appeal is made by either party after the city planning commission meeting the decision is final

Step 3. Appeals from either party go to city council. City council will approve or deny permit application. This will be conducted as a quasi judicial meeting. The City Council members cannot speak out about the project but they can listen!

 - If permit application is not approved: applicant can sue

 - If permit application is approved: community can sue
